![]() ![]() In previous games, trainers offered Apprentice-level and Novice-level training. Unlike The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, trainers in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim only offer skill leveling from Adept upwards. After you pay the trainers you can pickpocket them for your money back. Gold is automatically subtracted from the inventory when a training session is accepted. ![]() All training requires that a fee be paid. Skills can only be trained five times per level, until the skill level exceeds the level of the trainer. Most trainers offer their services from the start of the game, but some require certain tasks to be performed first. If you're detected while picking their pocket, they will lock you out for 2 days as normal, even though you still get the loot.Trainers are NPCs who help increase proficiency in skills in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. However, if it shows in their inventory you have a chance to steal it, but 0% means anything from "below 1%" to "Yeah, right!".īut there is a workaround, if you ragdoll them ( Paralysis, Unrelenting Force, ), you can keep trying to activate them until they stand back up, when you access their inventory while they're clambering to their feet, your chance of success can show as 0% but you'll succeed anyway, unfortunately you still need to ensure you're not detected, meaning that you want a Paralysis-effect poison with the Poisoned perk, or a spell/shout/staff with the Quiet Casting perk, if you don't mind them knowing you attacked them, other options work too (but save them for when you've run out of money, or have to go to higher-tier trainer). The 0% issue is because the value of what you're trying to steal decreases your chance of success, with gold scaling a bit faster, & topping out between, IIRC, 2700g & 2800g, even with all possible Vanilla buffs. The Unofficial Patch removes the training fees from potential Follower-Trainers, so I'm assuming you don't have that (or do have an "unfix" mod).
